I'm on a mission to ride the St Ives and Belrose Trails

 18/3/2013

St Ives and Belrose Trails are now up on Mountain Bike Trail Videos, however there are still plenty of trails in this area I have yet to ride.

CASCADES

Cascades is an area I've wanted to ride for a long time, but fear of the climb out always seen me ride elsewhere.  I'm now on a mission to film all the trails in the valley and with any luck I'll have this completed in the next week or two if I remember to pack the GoPro and don't die of a heart attack.

For now please enjoy the Cascade Track from St Ives to Davidson.

St IVES SHOWGROUND / WILDFLOWER GARDENS

The trails from Forestway to the St Ives Showground and Wildflower Gardens revealed themselves to me around Christmas time and since then I've returned regularly to ride the winding and sometimes technical single tracks.  Trails this flat are rare on Sydney's North but despite the lack of vert the rocky and rooted climbs are challenging enough for experienced riders while providing an excellent opportunity for beginners and the less fit to build confidence.  These trails don't see too much traffic but I suspect as more people become aware of them their popularity will grow.

Trails I'm yet to ride

  • Bare Creek
  • Camborne (Upper and Lower)
  • Quarry Track
  • Heath Track - actually I rode this this afternoon but forgot the GoPro
  • and all the fire trails that run on the western side of Mona Vale Rd.

Comments:

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
