I’ll be straight up. There are only two reasons to ride this section 1. to see the water and 2. to walk back up the hill.
There is only 200m of off-road from John Oxley Rd to the Sydney Water building from there it is either sealed or concrete road all the way to Middle Harbour. While the surface is often rough it’s hardly offroad.
It’s only redeeming feature is the ridiculously steep hill but due to the amount of leaf and tree litter I was very heavily on the brakes and didn’t enjoy it at all.
The view at the bottom is not that great, in fact it’s one of the ugliest sections of bush in the area due to the amount of graffiti.
Unless you really want the adventure I wouldn’t bother riding past the Sydney Water building.
