Notes:

Before riding in the Pilot Wilderness make sure you have done your homework, done a very thorough check of the weather conditions and have all the necessary safety gear as this part of the country is unforgiving.

The trail heads off from the car park at Dead Horse Gap, just 5km on from Thredbo Village.  The first kilometer has some reasonably steep climbs that were too much for my legs however after ascending the first 100m or so the trail flattens out as it follows the Thredbo River up stream toward the Big Boggy.

The trail is dual track 4x4 and in pretty good condition.  There are a lot of loose rocks / large gravel on the trail so take caution when descending especially considering this is a shared trail and does see a reasonable amount of walking traffic in good weather.

This is the most picturesque environment Iíve ever ridden (even better than the Summit Rd to Mt Kosciuszko) made all the more special when I spotted a Wild Brumby off in the distance.

If you donít have the time to ride out to Cascade Hut or even Bobís Ridge the ride from Dead Horse Gap to the Big Boggy is well worth the effort.

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
