Notes:
This section of trail is heavily travelled by walkers so you have to take extreme care if riding this stage. I've heard reports that you aren't supposed to ride between the Tunnel and Car Park however we couldn't find any signs at the time of riding.
This section is from the Glow Worm Tunnel back up to the Car Park at the end of Glow Worm Tunnel Rd, some 40km from Lithgow. Cars with low clearance should not attempt to get all the way to the last car park, there is a VERY steep dip and you could well get beached.
The trail was once the railway line so is generally wide single track the whole way. There are some rough technical sections especially close to the Glow Worm Tunnel, with the number of walkers on the trail you will probably need to dismount.
Roughly halfway between the Glow Worm Tunnel and the Car Park is a set of stairs that initially climb a few flights before descending through a narrow rock cutting. At the end of the cutting is a timber bridge followed by a very steep set of stairs back up to the trail. You get an appreciation of how steep the stairs are when I go down to help The Boy.
From the stairs on the trail is fairly gentle climb up to the car park with a few sandy sections and some steep drops off to the side of the trail.
Be sure to take a light for the Glow Worn Tunnel you wont get through it without one, of course you aren't allowed to ride the bike through the Tunnel.
