Notes:

Town Houses is part Fire Trail, part XC and part DH in that order.  Unfortunately the GoPro battery ran out part of the way through the single track after we took a wrong turn and had to walk out.

It's a fair drive from the Hassans Walls Lookout to the start of the Town Houses Fire Trail, of course you can ride out there as well.

At the time of riding the fire trail had a fair covering of leaf and branch litter over what is a fairly rough fire trail.  The trail is almost entirely descending out to the single track and then the trail undulates a little out to a big rock and a fork in the trail.  This is where our misadventure began.

The more worn trail headed off to the left and we found ourselves on a completely different trail that appeared to end at a rusty of fence well above the valley floor, it was during this walk out that the battery died.

You can see the point on the video where we went left but should have probably gone right, however the trail does wind back around under the rocky outcrop at the fork, we just missed it.

From this infamous rock the trail really starts descending.  Steep, rutty and at times off camber we found it reasonably challenging.  The Boy opted to walk some sections.  The final descent to High Street was very rutted and sketchy.

It would be a great return ride out along the ridge to the start of the DH, while it would be a bit of climb back the countryside and the single track that winds its way through the large sandstone features is really nice.

While very different to Channel 6 the Town Houses Trail was fun and challenging, a trail I would definitely do again.

Comments:

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
