Notes:
The Thredbo Diggings Trail used to be a walkers only trail but in 2014 was opened up to mountain bikers. It provides a third way of getting to and from Thredbo Diggings to Bullocks Flat, the others being the main TVT Part 4 - Bullocks Track - Thredbo Diggings to Bullocks Flat and the Muzzelwood Trail.
The TVT Part 4 - Bullocks Track - Thredbo Diggings to Bullocks Flat is largely a bike path and the Muzzelwood Trail is a mix of fire trail and flowy single track, while the Thredbo Diggings Trail is more technically difficult. It is a narrow trail often sunk into the grass meaning the edges can catch a lazy wheel. The climbs are short and steep and usually contain rocks, roots and ruts that require some clever navigation to stay upright and or avoid grabbing a pedal.
While on paper the Thredbo Diggings Trail may appear to run adjacent to the river it actually climbs quite high over the hill and therefore requires a bit of effort and some care descending the other side.
At the end of the trail there are a number of options, continue around to the left under the railway toward Bullocks Hut, the River Trail and the lower reaches of Lake Crackenback Resort, or head right to Ski Tube, the TVT Part 4 - Bullocks Track - Thredbo Diggings to Bullocks Flat or the Muzzelwood trail
