Notes:

So far out of the Effing way it's not funny but one of the most fantastic experiences I've had riding XC.

At the time of riding the trail was covered in pine needles to the point where it was very hard to see the trail, in fact toward the end I rode straight out of the forest before realising that I hadn't got to the top.  The pink paint marks on the trees were enormously helpful along the entire route.

I had such a great time on the Effing Track, whether it was the long and arduous journey to get there, the complete solitude of being so deep in the forest, the total silence or the beautifully moody vibe cruising around the dark and heavily covered trail, it was none the less one of the highlights of my week long trip to the Kowen Forest.

I was quite surprised to find that the Effing Track wasn't a tortuous climb.  After grinding my way up Escalator I assumed that because the trail was named the Effing Track it was going to be worse - how wrong I was.  The Effing Track undulates its way around the top of the hill with some fairly moderate climbs and some really lovely flowy descents.  Sure it was on the climb but not Effing bad, but Effing beautiful.

I really hope the Kowalski Brothers build more trails heading out to this part of the East Kowen Forest because more people need to savour this amazing trail.

I included the stretch of Fire Trail from the top of Escalator to the Effing Track in the video as the entrance to the Effing Track would be easy to miss, but don't forget the Kowalski's Trail Buddy app (Google Play or App Store) is the best way to find your way around the forest - it's extremely accurate

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
