Padre's Blessing

WingelloLast Update: 24/3/2016
Some trail names are made up, if there is a different name please let us know.

Video Uploaded: 15/12/2016

Difficulty - Intermediate - A & B Lines
Slope - Undulating - Steep
Space - Open - Tight
Surface - Cobblestones - Dirt - Heavy leaf and branch litter - Loose rocks on dirt - Rock - Roots - Rutted - Sand
Trail type - Single track

Notes:

I don't know if the trail builders intentionally made the first bit of single track on the Red Loop the hardest bit but it certainly is.  Nothing like putting the fear of god into any unsuspecting MTB newbies.

Padre's Blessing, otherwise known as Moulin Rouge on Strava gets straight into the technical stuff.  The A-Line has some pretty steep sections, with rough cobblestone followed by some technical rock climbing, while the B-Line (featured in this video) is a lot more casual it still has some technical rock sections.

If the first descent didn't get you off the pedals at some point then some of the narrow tree gaps on the long traverse to Gully Rd probably will.  In fact one particular gap is narrower than most bars, it's an art to get through without stopping.

Padre's Blessing is not a deal breaker when it comes to taking people around the Red Loop, but new riders might need a little encouragement that the hardest bit is done and dusted.

Comments:

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
