Red HillLast Update: 21/7/2012
Some trail names are made up, if there is a different name please let us know.
Difficulty - Easy - Intermediate - Advanced - A & B Lines
Slope - Moderate - Steep - Near vertical
Space - Open - Tight
Surface - Dirt - Loose rocks on dirt - Loose rocks on rock - Rock - Sand
Trail type - Single track
Notes:
From the Figure 8 there is a short single trail until a huge rock. There are a number of challenges from here.
- Red map section - Straight ahead it presents a 3m steep rock face climb for mountain goats. I've seen guys climb it and it defies logic! On the way back its an awesome roll down with up to 3 stages depending on your line. A great step up for intermediates wanting to test their manhood.
- Blue map section - If you back up a few metres from the base of the rock there is another single track off to the left. You will probably need to dismount at some point due to the depth of the loose sand. Continue on the trail winds back up to the main trail with a number of small rocky steps. A good intermediate section both up or down and less likelihood of hospitalisation compared to the other options.
- Yellow map section - About halfway along the blue map section is a track to the right and an amazing roll in of about 6-7 feet.
Note: the video runs in reverse, from the top of the hill at Top of the World down to Figure 8.
