Notes:

The Ridge Top Track runs from a gate on Mona Vale Rd, opposite the Wildflower Gardens down to the top of the Quarry Track.

The Ridge Top Track is primarily an access road for the councils recycling centre and it isn't until you pass the last of the cleared areas that the trail turns from a dirt road to fire trail.

A short single track runs around the top gate to allow easy access then the road descends running past the end of the Kitchener Track before splitting just before the pump house.  I took the road to the left, however Google Earth shows that you should be able to go around the other way as well .. but it wouldn't be the first time this week that I made a big mistake following a track on Google Earth that didn't exist any more!

As the road makes it's way through various cleared areas keep to the right.  The dirt begins along a straight stretch and at the end of the straight take the trail to the right over the drainage ditch and at the next intersection continue around to the left.  The offshoot to the right just heads to a tower and stops.

From here on the fire trail becomes narrower and the bush thicker.  At the time of riding the trail was well covered with leaf litter with the exception of a clear riding line.  The trail skirts around the bottom edge of the landfill site and there appears to have been some significant tree clearing in this area, maybe for new trails?

After passing the landfill site the trail descends through a set of steep and rough turns before cruising up to the gate and the head of the Quarry Track.

This track is largely a transport section between Mona Vale Rd and the Quarry Track.  Most of it is dirt road and fairly uneventful however I found the fire trail section a nice pedal due to the lush surrounds and undulating nature of the trail.

There is a small amount of room to park at the top off Mona Vale Rd, but do not block the gate.

Comments:

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
