Notes:
This trail runs from the trail head at the bottom of the hill near the Gold Coast Cycle Centre up to the top of the hill and a 3 way intersection of fire roads. Just short of the top is the entrance to the Three Hills single track, look out for the sign on the right.
From the very start the trail climbs steadily. Sometimes a little rough and a little loose, you will need to pick your line as you climb.
On the initial section you will notice a number of points where the Three Hills and or Casuarina Grove Trails have entry points from the fire trail. As you climb further a number of other unapproved trails also cross Centre Rd. The initial climb however is not one of the three climbs, that pain still awaits and they are three torturous climbs. I'm sure plenty of XC types scale these hills with consummate ease however they were too long for my legs and I had to get off and walk at some stage on each of the three climbs.
The climb to the top is only 1.75 kms and at the top there are a number of great options. Continue on and ride some of the many many kilometres of fire trail, or alternatively enter the Three Hills single track which is well sign posted (on the right just as you near the top of the hill).
You can of course descend Centre Rd, but why would you when a brilliant piece of single track lies waiting.
