Fenceline is the beginner trail run from the MTB Hub at the far end of the car park. Probably the most ridden section of Stromlo Forest Park it is the gateway for the Loop 2 trunk route climb.
Turn left at the MTB Hub (the blue signs) and ride through the tunnel - keeping left. The trail then crosses the open country before dipping through some trees and arriving at the Playground. The Playground is a great place to practice your skills or even just have some fun on a wide range of MTB obstacles that are very conveniently constructed in varying grades of difficulty.
After passing the Playground the trail winds its way through the trees before turning right and popping out into the open. On this straight and flat section they have built a set of rollers and berms which is a great place for beginner / intermediates to get comfortable pumping their bike.
Fenceline ends at the fire trail and almost directly across is the entrance to Cockatoo Switchbacks.
Cockatoo Switchbacks is fairly easy climbing. While it features a lot of turns and some rocks to make things tricky most riders with a basic level of fitness should get through this section without too many problems.
Unfortunately the GoPro had a moment and stopped mid trail so the final section of Cockatoo Switchbacks will need to be readdressed at a later date. That being said the trail continues on much the same as it did in the opening sequences however the climb does get a little steeper and the switchbacks keep coming.
The trail ends at another fire trail with a short stint to the next single track section - Blue Gums.
