Notes:
Hill Rd runs all the way from the 8 Mile Gate Carpark, up through the shuttle zone and back down the other size of the forest ending at the intersection of Redtank Rd / Pipeline Rd and the end of Eagle vs Shark.
The section between 8 Mile Gate Carpark and the shuttle pickup is a very flat climb, with the worst of it in the final 200m, however for all intents and purposes it’s a flat ride. Many of the locals park at the gate and ride up to the shuttle zone. On the way back it’s a case of getting into top gear and using what little slope there is to your advantage.
As well as being the road to the shuttles it’s the easiest way to get to Old Chevy by simply turning right onto Reservoir Rd just short of the shuttle pickup. Spring Roll heads off to the left just short of Reservoir Rd.
Be warned the trail can get quite busy with walkers, riders, shuttles and forestry vehicles. Keep a good ear and eye out while riding in either direction.
