Notes:
The Burnt Forest trail runs from part of the way up the south western end of Potters Gully Rd almost to the top of the mountain where it meets the Jelly Leg Climb - loosely tracking the Potters Gully Rd fire trail.
The typically dry and hard single trail has some small undulations but is largely a climb zig zagging its way up the mountain. While fewer trees make this trail a little more open than other Ourimbah State Forest trails, this section has it's own set of challenges. Tight climbing corners, small to medium ruts and plenty of small rocks and roots in the most inconvenient locations require plenty of brain power.
If you're a beginner/intermediate rider looking to improve your climbing skills and fitness this is the trail to ride!
Burnt Forest also has an outstanding special feature, a massive North Shore style berm about halfway along the trail, just before it crosses Potters Gully Rd and descends into Campbell's Gully. Check out the video and gallery below.
As this trail starts and ends on Potters Gully Rd its easily accessible as a stand alone ride.
