Notes:

The Bridal Loop is a XC trail running from the Friday Flat area running around the base of the mountain above the Thredbo River to the north.  It is a recently opened mountain bike trail and therefore parts of it are not so worn in yet.

It appears from the Thredbo Trail map that I followed the correct path however the signage didn't necessarily indicate I was on a MTB trail, I wondered if I had strayed onto a walking path by mistake.

After an initial traverse the trail climbs into the bush, I was having rear derailleur problems at the time so I walked sections of the climb, these should be easily climbed in low gears.

Once into the bush the trail levels out and then descends quite steeply before turning back towards the village.  The descent is steep, rocky and tight with a number of hard turns.  It's a difficult intermediate section however the less experienced can always walk this section.

The trail back is initially quite flowy as it breaks out of the bush and into the grassland area.  After brushing the outbound trail the track dips towards the road and has a number of creek crossings with steep climbs.  Experienced riders should be able to climb these however on the day my mech and tired legs weren't up to the task.

If I was doing it again I would start on the lower track and cross to the upper track where the two trails meet, then on the way back cross to the upper track for the final section back to Friday Flat.

There is a trail sign on the lower track about 100m from the Friday Flat area outlining the proposed Thredbo Valley Track which will run all the way to Skitube.  At this stage the Thredbo Valley Track extends 2.5km to the Suspension Bridges.  When completed a ride to the Skitube Terminal at Bullocks Flat, around the Lake Crackenback Resort Loop and the River Ride returning to Thredbo will be more than 50km long.

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
