Notes:
The Long Loop shares a small section of Pig Hollow with the
short loop before heading off on the Heavy Cow Loop and returning for the
remainder of Pig Hollow. It’s quite a
long section of trail with a fair amount of climbing involved.
Heavy Cow is way out the back, in fact it’s on the edge of
the forest which means there’s quite a bit of light filtering through the trees
and there are some great views. About
midway through would be a great place to stop and have a break (9:40 on the
video).
The section of the Heavy Cow Loop on the far edge of the
forest doesn’t appear to get a lot of traffic in fact on many occasions it was
completely covered in pine needles with only rocks, branches and the slight dip
in the surface giving any indication of where you should be riding. With both climbs and descents in this section
I found it pretty rewarding.
Heavy Cow has a number of small rock gardens that require
your attention.
