Pig and Piglet   (2.00km)

Rotorua RedwoodsLast Update: 30/12/2014
Some trail names are made up, if there is a different name please let us know.

Video Uploaded: 16/11/2014

Difficulty - Easy
Slope - Moderate - Undulating
Space - Open
Surface - Dirt - Heavy leaf and branch litter - Roots - Rutted
Trail type - Firetrail - Single track

Notes:

The Pig Track is a forestry road running  from the Wash Rd to Katore Rd.  Piglet is a single track linking Nursery Rd (at the end of Creek) to the  midpoint of the Pig Track.

This video  shows riding from Nursery Rd to Katore Rd.

The Piglet Track is a straight single track  running two way.  It is an uneventful and  easy climbing gradient.  The Pig Track from Piglet to Katore Jumps begins as a well-maintained forestry road but ends with a heavily rutted section  just short of Katore Rd.

Pig and Piglet are nothing more than linking trails that join  up The Wash Road and Nursery Road with Katore Jumps.  There is little  reason to ride them otherwise – well unless you want to see a truck load of  sprinklers in the middle of the forest?

Both trails  run two ways and are shared with walkers.

Comments:

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
