Notes:
My favourite section of Manly Dam. This section is starts with some steep steps and drops. This is not for the feint hearted, in fact its a great opportunity for intermediate and advanced riders to go hard with steps/small drops coming one after another for extended periods of time.
A minute or so into the ride the trail levels out a little at the 18th Hole, which features some very large rocks to roll off. The B-Line is around to the right (and cuts sharply back to the left) but it has has some tight and rough sections to navigate. After the 18th Hole the trail winds its way through the bush with a mix of dirt and wooded single trail before arriving back into civilization at Cootamunda Drive.
There is a short roadside ride before the trail drops back down into the bush for some more steps and single trail that winds its way down to Nyrang Rd.
The trail opens up again with some fast sections littered with drops, rocks and rutted sections.
Shortly after the second gate head right (if you miss it and continue forward you will end up at a path running right against the property line with a sign saying no bikes). This is the final downhill section and has a few drops, steps and obstacles. It’s a mix of dirt and wooden sections with plenty of rocks as well. I love this section and have come unstuck a few times due to the first tight and rough left turn.
The lap ends as you exit the bush on a concrete footpath at the Water Research Laboratory - STOP !! Keep an eye out for walkers!
Parking at Allambie Heights Oval, along the way on Cootamunda Drive, Monserra Drive, Nyrang Ave or at the Water Research Lab at the bottom.
