Notes:
This trail runs from the Wakehurst Parkway to Allambie Heights.
The fire trail starts descending fairly quickly and gives you a great opportunity to pick up some serious speed, but be warned there are walkers on this section and on occasion even rangers in 4WDs, so be alert.
The trail descent is very rocky, in fact there are long sections on bed rock with loose gravel on top. At the bottom of the hill there are some ruts and grooves carved into the rock that could cause some serious issues if you aren’t paying attention. Then just when you think you can’t hold onto the bars any longer around the corner appears a hill climb from hell !! Steep and on occasion rocky this dirt hill climb is a lung busting piece of torture. (It took me 2 minutes to walk up)
After climbing the hill the fire trail undulates until the intersection of the fire trail coming down from Allambie Heights (The Oval and Tennis Courts) and the descent to Nyrang Rd.
You can enter this section about halfway along the Wakehurst Parkway between North Balgowlah and Frenchs Forest.
Parking off the Wakehurst Parkway or up at the Allambie Oval.
