Notes:
The Garden Trail climb is listed as a black run, largely to deter inexperienced riders who will find themselves out of their depth when descending, in fact there are a number of signs advising riders who have not been able to ride up the opening 25% of the trail to turn around and walk down.
The Garden Trail is not without it's own challenges in fact its a pretty tricky climb. From the top of intersection of Emu's Run and Tokyo Express the Garden Trail climbs approximately 130m over 2.5km. The trail is full of switchbacks that seem to get longer and steeper and the sections between them shorter and steeper. There are also a lot of technical rock gardens that were too much for me to handle during the climb.
At the top of the hill Garden Trail turns into Bitter Sweet and immediately starts descending, there is however a short path to the left heading up to the fence which provides some amazing views and an opportunity to get your breath back for the descent (you're going to need it).
Climbing the Garden Trail is a definite must for any experienced MTBer riding Bungarra and if you like your technical climbs you will be in your element!
As mentioned the descent is very tricky with tonnes of razor sharp rocks, it would be unwise to take an experienced rider up the Garden Trail
