Notes:
This section starts at the Old Coach Road Fire Trail and runs all the way out to the Newnes Camping Ground. For the most part this trail is a leisurely descent following the old Rail Trail however there are a number of gulleys to navigate that will require carrying or wheeling your bike up steep inclines and or steps. While this section doesn't have the same rock clambering that the Rail Trail section from Old Coach Rd to Glow Worm Tunnel has there are far more gullies, far bigger gullies and far tougher gullies to climb.
But putting aside the warning the riding in between is very cruisey. There are some tight sections with steep drops at the beginning of the trail but generally its a fairly wide, flat and straight ride all the way to Newnes.
The trail can be ridden in either direction making it a very reasonable proposition to ride from Newnes to the Glow Worm Tunnel and return via the same route - some level of bike fitness would be recommended.
