Notes:
The Singleton Trail is an easy XC trail suitable for all levels of rider. It is 100% single track, winding its way up and down an easy gradient for a total climb of about 90m over the 10km loop.
Like most XC trails the Singleton Trail rewards smooth and efficient riding. A reasonable number of corners are closely lined by trees with the odd loose corner to contend with but for the most part the trail is open and unimpeded.
There are around a dozen logs to ride over, all of which are rollable and the more tricky logs have b-lines to ride around.
There’s nothing for beginners to be afraid of on the Singleton Trail, while more experienced riders will enjoy the flowy sections and the opportunity to get some air off the logs.
The Singleton Trail is not unlike Wylde MTB Trail but without the pinch climbs and it's far more open and flowy than Rydal.
Singleton is definitely worth the ride if you’re visiting the Singleton Trail.
The Trail Head
The Trail Head is located on Maison Dieu Rd, Maison Dieu, which is just a few minutes further on from the centre of Singleton. Drive through the Singleton township on the New England Highway, head over the bridge, then just after going under the rail bridge take the left onto Maison Dieu Rd. Maison Dieu Rd heads through an industrial area followed by a small residential area and then a 100km zone.
The Trail Head is at the 100km zone sign on the right hand side of the road. There is a small clearing to park in and a pine log set of stairs over the barbed wire fence. Be careful not to pop a tyre on the fence.
The trail runs anti clockwise, so head off to the left and you pretty much can’t go wrong.
