Notes:

Singleton is located in the NSW Hunter Valley about 25 minutes north west of Pokolbin, the epicentre of the Hunter Valley vineyard region.  It is for this reason that as a Wine Lover / MTBer you need to be aware of the XC loop in Singleton.

Singleton has a population of around 14,000 so is well supported by all the major supermarket stores and also comes with a nice selection well old-wares type places.  If your other half is into old-wares like mine, being able to go our separate ways for an hour or two is a great option.

Singleton is also just off the Hunter Expressway which makes it super easy to get to and less than 2 hours up the freeway from Hornsby.

The final wrap up on Singleton as a location is that it’s close enough to the vineyards to make it your base without the vineyards price tag.  It is also a great location to stay if you’re going to one of the Hunter Valley open air concerts as the area is well serviced by event buses (at a cost).

The Trail Head

The Trail Head is located on Maison Dieu Rd, Maison Dieu, which is just a few minutes further on from the centre of Singleton.  Drive through the Singleton township on the New England Highway, head over the bridge, then just after going under the rail bridge take the left onto Maison Dieu Rd.  Maison Dieu Rd heads through an industrial area followed by a small residential area and then a 100km zone.

The Trail Head is at the 100km zone sign on the right hand side of the road.  There is a small clearing to park in and a pine log set of stairs over the barbed wire fence.  Be careful not to pop a tyre on the fence.

The trail runs anti clockwise, so head off to the left and you pretty much can’t go wrong.

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
