Notes:
The 12km Loop forks off to the right of the 6km Loop up near the boundary fence and dips quickly into the bush. The opening descent is the tightest riding in Wylde with some steep shoots, berms and rock gardens. The trail can be quite dusty so care should be taken on potentially slippery corners.
As with the 6km Loop the 12km Loop rewards smooth riding. The 12km loop undulates for the entire 6km extension so holding your momentum through corners and berms will make many of the short climbs far easier. There are however a number of much longer and steeper climbs that will take some effort, especially on hot days such as the day the filming was done.
From the farthest reaches of the 12km loop you may be forgiven for thinking that the trail will descend back to the start, however some of the longest climbs are yet to come, in fact the trail winds its way almost all the way to the top again. And that’s just one of the climbs. The section that forms the 12km Loop is far more physically challenging than either of the previous 2 loops but it’s a great ride.
The 12km Loop returns to the 6km Loop near where it forked off. To return to the trail head simply ride the remaining 10% and 25% of the 6km and 3km loops respectively.
