New 2014 Video (map to be updated but it's pretty close to the new route)

This track runs from the top of Centre Rd (Three Hills Fire Trail) right down to the Gold Coast Cycle Centre, merging with the Casuarina Grove Track just before the bottom.

Three Hills is a great track! It's largely on the descent however there are some sections of flat cruising and few small climbs to remind you of how much fun descending is.

From the top the trail flows across grassland before descending, steeply at times, into the valley. The trail has a lot of loose rocks in places resulting in rough and tough corners. You also find the odd root and subsequent drop on the other side, large ruts, plenty of rocks and trees on the apex or exits of corners and you have yourself a challenging but awesomely fun trail.

The Three Hills trail never ventures far from the fire trail, in fact after the initial set of switchback descents it largely follows the fire trail down to the Casuarina Grove Circuit.

The lower half of the trail is less steep and contains less loose rocks however the trail surface actually becomes more technical. Plenty of roots, drops and ruts keep you on your toes, not to mention the increasing frequency and ever tightening of the trees. While its not overly complicated the sheer number of things to consider kept me at a slow pace on my opening descent but after a few runs I found it quite playful and flowy.

Three Hills is the sort of trail I really enjoy, fun, fast, flowy technical, rough - organic rather than groomed and the 2014 update has removed some of the climbing sections replacing them with a really fast descending traverse - LOVED THAT BIT!

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
