Notes:
The fire trail that runs from Quarry Road right down to the bottom of the valley makes Old Man's Valley one of the most accommodating trail centres around.
It serves as direct access to the Green Loop for (kids and beginners) and for those who have made it down the Blue Descent it is the backbone of the climb back.
DOWN: Take it VERY easy! It's steep and loose, plus you will probably come across riders climbing back up who will not expect to see you. If you are taking kids down I would very seriously re-consider riding the first section.
UP: On the way up you join the Fire Trail from the bottom of the Blue Descent or Green Loop and climb a moderate hill to the start of the Blue Pool Climb which is directly opposite the open rollers on the Blue Descent. From here the trail gets steeper with the most treacherous section being the final ascent to Quarry Road.
Any easier there would be a chairlift!
