Notes:
Ryland 1st Left is the first fire trail that runs off from the south side of the main Ryland Trail.
The shorter of the two off shoots Ryland 1st Left is a little wilder than its mate Ryland 2nd Left with some tighter corners and a more significant descent along the entire trail. That being said it's still a very short and easy ride.
There's no view at the end in fact its the worst view of all the Ryland trails, however it does have a single track that extends down from the last tower into the valley (not on this video).
At the time of riding the single track was somewhat over grown with a number of fallen trees crossing the path, however once at the valley floor the number of massive fallen trees blocking the path and the foul water crossings make the trail quite unrideable. If you are in an adventurous mood you can hike a bike all the way through to the Maintenance Trail that runs from the St Ives Wildflower Gardens Fire Trail, however be warned the Maintenance Trail is ROUGH, unmaintained, rutted to buggery and littered with large loose rocks. Totally unrideable for large sections. Once only adventure in my opinion. It's also unclear if the single track to the Maintenance Trail is actually legal to ride?
