Notes:

Firstly ... sorry about all the sniffling on the video and the heavy breathing is not really that indicative of the trail difficulty it was far more a case of being at the end of a weekend of descending and climbing .. I was spent!  However .. if you turn the sound back on at about 7mins the GoPro is picking up my heart beat through the mic!!

This section runs from Wombat Junction back to the MTB Hub at the car park.

After all the pedalling of the Crim Track, Dingo, White Gums and Ringtail I was glad to be heading down hill for a while.

Breakout descends from Wombat Junction (the end of Ringtail) through a series of tight turns and then shoots across the mountain with some fun free-running sections.  The trail is rocky at times, has ruts and roots, loose patches and some corners that require good reactions if travelling at speed.  It was a pretty fun descent with only a short climb out from the creek back up to the fire trail and onto Muck Raker.

Muck Raker and Wattle Happen are not much more than a XC single track transport sections from the end of Breakout to the final run home via the Old Duffy Descent (seen on this video and also at the end of the Luge).  Once again if XC trails are your thing then you will probably enjoy this cruisey trip through the countryside.

Wattle Happen ends at Home View Junction.  Dive through the tunnel and come around the other side and you will be on the final descent home - Old Duffy Descent.  It's quite a fun section of trail rolling its way through the open grasslands back to the MTB Hub.  There are a number of jumps / rollers to pump off before crossing a fire trail and circling around toward the base.  As you come around the hill look out for the jump clearly labelled as "advanced", check it out first but if you've managed to survive the drops on Pork Barrel then you should be ok popping off this guy.

Now take a drink of water and climb back up for another loop!

For me this section was a nice way to finish off a very long morning riding.  The descents were fast enough and rough enough to keep the heart pumping (however easily navigated slowly by beginners) and the XC easy pedalling.

Definitely worth riding especially if you lean towards the XC side of mountain biking.

This website is brought to you by MTB weekend warrior Aaron Markie.
There are plenty of great websites out there with a wealth of information about Mountain Bike Trails,
however in my experience its hard to get a good mix of info, maps, photos and videos of trails I've never ridden.
The idea of this website is to tie those 4 elements together and give you a more detailed look at the MTB Trails I ride.
If you have anything to add then let me know.
