Notes:
Ren is one of the great descents in the East Kowen Forest, sadly however his mate Stimpy is no longer, gone due to logging.
Ren is a long way out the back, a long way, but well worth the effort. Best ridden on the way back from the Effing Track another amazing trail for very different reasons. If time is on your side I highly recommend making the effort to climb Escalator, savor the beauty of the Effing Track and let loose on Ren.
Ren has elements of a great park trail. Plenty of jumps, rocky sections, berms and plenty of speed however it still retains that classic Kowalski Brothers narrow, wild, hand built East Kowen charm.
For the most part Ren is on the descent but there is a short climb out to the fire road at the end.
I hope you like it as much as I did.
At the time of riding the options for returning are either to head for Mountain Paddock Rd - BUT BE WARNED - SNOT was a bog and I ended up having to climb back up to Mountain Paddock Rd at the end of the trail due to the sheep fence - it was a steep climb too. I'm not entirely sure that you can get out from SNOT any other way with the sheep fences now in place? So stay on Mt Paddock Rd and head for Crazy Horse.
Alternatively head back toward Braaap, another trail that's not recommended.
