Notes:
There are two trails a blue trail and a green trail (this trail shown riding from the end of the trail back to Lake Crackenback Resort) that run from the bottom end of the Lake Crackenback Resort Loop and just over the bridge from the Skitube Car Park almost 4km down the Thredbo River. Both trails are easily ridden however the Thredbo River Blue Tail is narrower, more undulating, contains tighter corners and a few more rocks on the trail to navigate. The Thredbo River Green Trail (this video) on the other hand is wider, a lot flatter, has virtually no rocks on the trail and with the exception of a few small hills (that the less experienced may need to walk) is very easy going.
While it's a fairly easy trail it is well worth the ride down the valley following the Thredbo River. Link this up with the Lake Crackenback Resort Loop and the Thredbo Diggings to Bullocks Flat trail and you have a pretty long and picturesque XC trail. When the trail links up with the Thredbo Resort trails its on going to be one MASSIVE XC MTB experience .. not to be missed.
You are almost guaranteed to come in contact with Kangaroos in this area and maybe even an Emu. Its well worth taking the family for a ride around this area. Don't forget the camera!
BEWARE - These trails are shared with walkers. The MTB community have put a lot of energy into gaining the necessary approval to allow mountain biking. Enjoy the trail but PLAY IT SAFE, there are other tracks in the Snowy to break free on.
