Notes:
Skyline, with the exception of the Downhill, is probably the most famous of the Stromlo Forest Park mountain bike trails. It runs from the end of the Western Wedgetail trail (at Wedgetail Junction) to the bridge on the Downhill track and the start of Luge.
For the most part Skyline descends but there are some sections where pedalling is required. More experienced riders should/could be able to hold momentum along the whole trail.
Skyline only has a few serious corners, it tends to traverse the hill side flicking around trees and rocks along the way. There are a lot of pumpable rollers that help to produce speed and the odd jump or technical to hit if your skills and energy levels are up for it.
Visibility is pretty good for the majority of the trail and as there are very few surprises you can really get moving, however it does come with a warning. Large sections of the trail are lined with trees that with a momentary loss of concentration could result in a serious accident. The trail edges are littered with large sharp rocks .. season ending rocks. If you are riding this for the first time or struggling with energy/concentration levels after climbing to the top then I recommend keeping well within your limits as the price of failure could be high!
Otherwise .. stay on target and have an awesome flowy fun descent!
A must do on your trip to Stromlo Forest Park.
