Notes:
NOTE: The photos and video were taken mid winter during a snow storm. There had been plenty of snow over the previous week so the track was VERY wet. In summer this track would be quite dry and a lot easier to ride. There is a MTB skills course near the entrance to the resort and @LakeCrackenback and a pump and flow track opened in late 2012. Also our GPS Map is a bit off so we will update that after our next trip.
The Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa have done a great job of the MTB single track looping around the resort. There are sections with berms at the top of the resort and plenty of winding trails through the alpine bush.
The trails are well groomed with very few obstacles on the track. In fact there were only a few sections where rocks or roots poked through. There are a number of wooden bridges that are quite wide and even a nice stone bridge over the creek.
Its a great ride for the whole family and links up beautifully with the trail back to Thredbo Diggings or along the River Trail.
Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa have a stack of hardtail mountain bikes for hire that will suit the local trails perfectly.
BEWARE - These trails are shared with walkers. The MTB community have put a lot of energy into gaining the necessary approval to allow mountain biking. Enjoy the trail but PLAY IT SAFE, there are other trails in the Snowy to break free on.
