Notes:
On some maps Underbilly is listed as an up trail, but the trail signage and the flow of traffic clearly defines Underbilly as a descending and alternate start to Billy T.
Underbilly is significantly easier ride than the top section of Billy T but it is not without its challenges. Lots of roots, a few muddy sections and some slightly technical twisty flow over a generous layer of pine needles makes Billy T a great ride and a trail that I rode many times.
Underbilly runs from the shuttle drop off in contrast to Billy T which is a reasonable climb up Tawa Road through the gate. This makes Underbilly a favourite of many shuttlers.
Underbilly merges with Billy T after only a couple of minutes.
This video includes the remainder of Billy T down to the intersection of Moerangi Rd, Hill Rd and the start of G Rock. For more information on the lower section of Billy T please visit the Billy T trail page.
